Things to think about before you start:
What are your thoughts on how you want your web site to look (colors, theme, backgrounds, pictures, logo, text) and what do you want to accomplish with it?
How many pages do you think you might need to start with?
Do you want an online store?
Do you have a logo or need one? I can help you create one if you wish.
Do you already have a registered domain name?
If you don't have a domain name, I would suggest going to GoDaddy.com and pick one out. It might take a while, since all the most obvious names are usually taken.
I like Godaddy.com for their pricing and support. I have most of my websites hosted by them.
A domain name runs about $12 per year and basic hosting runs about $50 per year. Hosting is where your website resides on the internet.
My charges are simple:
First two pages and responsive website design setup: $300
(includes one home page and a contact page with a contact form)
(subject to change based on complexity of the initial website design and the quality of your initial input)
The web site setup will include a site map, updated with each added page and submission of your site to all of the major search engines.
Additional pages or changes, such as a slide show, photos added, animations — $24 per hour, 1/4 hour increments.
(a typical added page with just text and a couple photos is about
1 hr, assuming you have provided the text and quality photos)
Minor changes, like changing of font style or wording in a paragraph - Free unless there are a bunch of requests all in a row.
Online store - Basic setup and structure — $350
Adding product to store and maintaining the online inventory — $24 per hour. 1/4 hour increments.
If you wish to take credit cards online, you will need to set up a merchant account for the web.
A basic merchant account runs about $30 to $50 per month, depending on who you choose.
If you wish to purchase the software for the store and update inventory yourself, I can instruct you after the initial setup.
Flat fee site maintenance is available.
